Lusting over lighting

Our dining room has slowly been evolving over the past 10 months.
I've shared the progress including painting our temporary dining room table, building our now permanent dining room table, decorating the dining room hutch, and splurging a little on some dining room chairs.

What I haven't shown you is this gaping hole above the dining room table:

Not so pretty, I know.
When we moved in the house, we took down the existing light fixture (just a basic flush mount cap) and hung up this Crate & Barrel pendant that we used in our last place.

Well, it ended up getting re-called, which I was okay with because
a) I didn't really like the way it looked in our new dining room
and b) Crate & Barrel refunded us the cost of the fixture.
So, we have been living with this hole in the ceiling for a couple of months until this past weekend.

We can now add electrician to Chris's list of handyman skills as he hung this Pottery Barn fixture that I've been obsessing over for a while now:

Pottery Barn
The price was a little more than I was willing to spend so I waited for a coupon and we sold a piece of furniture that we no longer needed to off-set the cost.

Here it is hung up (ignore the fact that we should probably paint the ceiling now--oh joy):

I'm so happy to no longer stare at the hole in the ceiling.
Now this room is slowly becoming my favorite in the house!

Thanks for dropping by :)

  2. LOVE the light Swanns! I can't believe how it literally changed the space. Can't wait to see the house (hopefully soon) and all the projects in person!
