Our greatest project yet!

Please excuse me while I take a break from the blogosphere to tend to a project that has been in the works for 9 months now!
Baby Charles (Charlie) is finally here and we are soaking up every minute of it.
We are absolutely over the moon and are so in love with him already!

Have a great weekend!

"Foyer" viewing pleasure: part 2

The left side of our foyer, which has been bare for the majority of our time here, has recently been shown some attention.

The wooden shelf was a garage sale find for only five bucks.
We had it hung up in our last place but since moving, it had been sitting in a closet until it dawned on me that it might work here.

The frames are also from a garage sale and the faux succulents in the tin are from Home Goods (I'm a fan of plants that I can't kill).

The straw tote that is hanging was a "dipping" project of mine.
For a DIY tutorial on how to dip something, you can visit here.

This herringbone throw blanket is a recent purchase from Target that you can find here.
I also picked up one in blue for our bedroom.
Can you ever have too many throw blankets? Not in our house!

Below the shelf is this shoe rack that came from Sailor Trading Co., a consignment furniture store in New Jersey that I have posted about here.
I originally had it in our guest house but decided to try it in here instead.
The suitcase on the bottom is from a garage sale and the smaller one on top is from Home Goods.

You can read about the right side of our foyer that I posted about a ways back here.

Minus the throw blanket, I used things that I already had to decorate this space
which = no extra money spent
which = happy husband!

P.S. Another thank you to Julia Ryan from Pawleys Island Posh for yesterday's feature!

Have a great day :)

The nursery: ready for its reveal

Even though the baby hasn't officially made his debut yet (today is actually his due date!),
his room is ready for its debut.

It was such a fun nursery to put together and I'm slightly sad that there aren't really anymore projects left to do in here (except to hang this light fixture).

At the end of this post, you'll find a source list of where everything came from.

Baby's bathroom

Today I'm sharing a look around the nursery bathroom, which thanks to maternity leave, I was recently able to finish. It's amazing what you can get done before the baby arrives when you don't have to go to work!

The shower curtain is West Elm and can be found here.

I picked up this hand towel, which reminded me of the shower curtain, from Home Goods.

The three frames hanging above the re-purposed oar can be found here from Crate & Barrel.

I filled two of the frames with metal stencil tags of the baby's initials.

The frame in the middle is filled with this compass drawn by my oh-so-talented sister.
Thanks Jamie!

My mom jokes that with the way I decorate, the baby won't know his primary colors!
Well, here you go mom.
Here's some yellow!

To read about this bird drawing (also drawn by my sister), click here.

This boat was part of a shower gift from my mom.
She had it filled with boat shoes for the baby but I've re-purposed it in here to hold wash clothes.

Wishing you a relaxing Memorial Day Weekend!
