New look for the nook

Happy Saturday!
Today I'm sharing a new look for our kitchen nook.
I was getting sick of the same accessories that have been sitting there for the past year so I recently freshened up the space with a little re-arranging.

Like the previous accessories that were on the shelves, these "new" ones are mostly garage sale finds.

I filled these three large jars with granola, sugar, and peanuts.

There's no such thing as having too much sparkling water in this house.
Plus, it looks nice in a basket.

Hydrangeas a la Trader Joe's.
My favorite!

We have the same pillows on the built-in seat as last year so I'm thinking it might be time for an update. I've been on the hunt for new ones or fabric to make new pillows out of but haven't found anything that I love yet.

It is refreshing to have a new look in this area of the kitchen.
Just a switch out of some accessories and it is like a breath of fresh air.

Have a great weekend :)

  1. That looks so good! I love the wood candle holder.

Would you post a whole house tour so that we could see it as a whole? I would love that!

  6. Absolutely gorgeous! I was hoping you could share some tips on how you pick fabric for pillows. I really struggle picking the right print for the space and style. You always seem to get it perfect. Love the blog, keep it comin mama!

    1. Thanks so much! I wish I had a method to picking fabric to share with you but really I just go with a pattern or print that I like and that has colors that go (not necessarily match) with the look of the room. I spotted this flower fabric in a fabric store and just really liked it. The neutral colors matched our kitchen too. Try not to over think it. Pick what you like and not what you think is supposed to go in the room. Good luck!

    1. Thanks! These baskets are from Home Goods but if you can't find them there, Crate and Barrel sells a very similar version:http://www.crateandbarrel.com/decorating-and-accessories/baskets/wire-baskets/f36376

  10. Love the shelves! I have some that are similar but shorter in my kitchen. Think it is definitely time for some painting and rearranging there. Thanks for the inspiration!
