Project playroom: ready for its reveal

When we moved here a few years ago, I wasn't exactly sure what we would do with this detached space that is just a couple steps from the backdoor of our house:

But once we had our first son, I realized that it would make a great playroom, especially since we don't have a finished basement or extra kid room in the house.

So this summer I began turning this blank space into a place for our two boys and shared the progress along the way here, here, here, herehere, here, here, aaaaand here

And now that the custom cushions for the built-in seat (which lift up and double as toy storage) are in, I think I can call this playroom complete.

So here's a look around and at the end of this post, there's a source list and a special coupon code for readers of this blog!

Making room for roommates

Hi there!
I've been meaning to share how we made room for two cribs in the nursery for a while now and finally got around to taking some pictures this weekend.
Even though Sammy is still sleeping in our bedroom next to me, we have his bed all ready for him to transition into in the next month or so.

After playing around with a few different furniture configurations, we decided on putting his crib in the little nook where the changing table used to be.

The crib, purchased here, isn't exactly the same as Charlie's but the style is very similar.
The sale price was pretty nice too!

So where's the changing table?
It's actually now in their bathroom which has worked out nicely.
Those diaper genies can smell pretty terrible so at least that unpleasantry is contained to the bathroom!

A big thanks to René of Cottage and Vine for today's feature!

Console table talk

I don't know why but our family room just keeps stumping me.
I guess that's what separates the wannabe interior decorators (me!) from the real deal professionals (not me!) haha.
Every decision I've made in this room has been sloooooow and has me second guessing myself.
Like what to do with the big blank wall that you pass by as you walk through the family room from the kitchen to the foyer?
It's a narrow space that couldn't take any piece of furniture that was deeper than 15 inches.
I searched and searched for a console table and finally went with this West Elm one:

Yay! A decision made.
But then came decorating it.
Stumped again. For months.
I blamed it on pregnancy brain.
Then I had the baby and still was stumped, haha!
So I blamed it on mommy brain.
Whatever brain it was, I think the fog has lifted a little and this console table is now starting to look presentable!
At least I think...there goes the indecisiveness again.

I didn't want to clutter it up so it's pretty simple.
A lamp and framed art from Home Goods, some coffee table books, a wire basket (that was serving as a light fixture in our laundry closet), a throw blanket, and a plant.

I hope you are having more of a decision-filled day than I!
Thanks for stopping by!

Sale on!

Who doesn't love a good sale?
H&M has their winter sale going on and here are a few things (some that I already own) with super low prices:

Blue and white and will keep things organized? Does it get any more "me"? It also comes in two sizes.

I love these and have these! They were a Christmas gift and I recently shared a picture of baby Sam sporting them on Instagram.

I also have these pillow covers and shared them in this post on our family room couch (although now they've been moved to the window seat).

If this came in my size, I'd wear it! Waiting on a certain somebody to find out if they're having a baby GIRL or not this summer so I can purchase!

We used these as favors for my sister-in-law's baby shower last spring (they were blue and white) and tied them up really cute with a box of matches and a tag (you can see here on Instagram)! They have them in a two pack in pink, which would be a great shower favor for someone having a baby girl!

I'm kind of in baby mode right now, can't you tell? I love this gender neutral sweater for the winter. So sweet!

And for a few things that aren't on sale but I'm loving anyway (and are still relatively inexpensive), see here, here, and here!
